If you’re planning to buy an espresso machine, go somewhere else.
At the end of March, I tried ordering a black Quickmill Pop Up espresso machine. I was later told the black unit was unavailable, but they offered me an open-box unit for $50 less. Before agreeing, I specifically asked if it had been used or if it was simply open-box. I was told it had never been used and was only open-box, so I agreed.
When the machine arrived, it was clearly not in the condition I was led to expect. It had visible wear and tear, scuffs, and even rust.
They offered me a refund, but I gave them the benefit of the doubt and agreed to wait for a brand-new replacement, which did not arrive until the first week of May — about a month later.
When the brand-new unit finally arrived, I opened the box, plugged it in, and it would not even turn on.
I contacted them Tuesday morning, but their technician did not respond until Wednesday morning. They sent me a YouTube video on how to fix it, and the machine finally turned on.
The moment I started using it, water started leaking badly underneath the machine — like running water under the unit. When I opened it again to inspect, one of the valves was broken. Again, this was supposed to be a brand-new machine.
I called Thursday morning to get the issue resolved, only to be told their technician was not available until Saturday. For a company selling espresso machines worth thousands of dollars, not having reliable technical support available is unacceptable.
Saturday came, I tried calling, and I went straight to voicemail.
I’m done with this company. After almost two months of back and forth, I still do not have a functioning espresso machine.
If you’re buying an expensive coffee machine, I strongly recommend going somewhere else.
