Commercial Heart. Compact Footprint. Unmistakably Bezzera.
Since Luigi Bezzera invented the espresso machine in 1901, the name has stood for one thing above all else: uncompromising Italian craftsmanship. The Sole is the fullest expression of that heritage in a compact, home-ready chassis. Deceptively small, genuinely powerful, and built from the same principles that govern professional bar equipment, the Sole delivers commercial-grade thermal performance and whisper-quiet rotary pump operation — with the flexibility to go wherever great coffee is needed, no mains connection required.
A Compact Machine With a Commercial Soul
The Sole's defining characteristic is what Bezzera have managed to pack into its compact AISI 304 stainless steel body. At the heart of the machine is a 2-litre copper heat exchange boiler, generating the kind of sustained steam power and thermal reserve that most machines at this footprint simply cannot match. This is the same proven boiler architecture Bezzera deploys in its commercial line — handling back-to-back milk drinks and continuous service without hesitation.
The E61 group head — the industry's most trusted and enduring brew group — is powered by a thermosiphonic hydraulic circulation system that continuously cycles hot water between the boiler and the group. The result is a group head that sits at stable, optimal brew temperature from the moment it reaches temperature, maintaining consistency across every extraction without any intervention from the barista. This is not a domestic approximation of commercial stability. It is commercial stability.
Rotary Pump — Silent, Smooth, Unrestricted
The Sole is fitted with a 70L/h rotary pump — a specification found on professional commercial machines, not prosumer ones. Where vibratory pumps pulse and rattle, the rotary pump delivers smooth, continuous, and virtually silent pressure, ensuring a uniform and stable extraction profile from the first second of every shot.
Critically, the rotary pump is connected to a dual water source system: the machine can operate freely from its generous 4-litre internal water tank, placing it anywhere a stove and counter space exist — no plumber, no pipe work, no fixed installation required. Alternatively, it can be connected directly to the mains water supply for uninterrupted, hands-free operation in a permanent setup. The same machine, two completely different use cases.
PID Temperature Control & Shot Timer
Precision is built into the Sole's control system. A PID controller monitors and maintains boiler temperature within ±1°C, adjustable in 1° increments — giving baristas the granular control needed to fine-tune extraction across different roast profiles, origins, and grind settings. The same display doubles as a shot timer chronometer, counting extraction time from the moment the lever is engaged, giving the barista real-time visibility over the flow and the ability to make informed adjustments shot by shot.
Optional Flow Control — Extraction as a Craft
For those who want to go further, the Sole can be specified with an optional flow control paddle on the E61 group head. This allows manual adjustment of brewing pressure throughout the extraction — enabling pre-infusion, pressure profiling, and extraction techniques that unlock the full complexity of specialty coffee. It is the difference between pulling a consistent, repeatable espresso and actively crafting each shot as a barista would.
Protection, Safety & Intelligence
Bezzera have built safeguards into the Sole that speak to its heavy-duty design intent. Automatic water entry into the boiler maintains the correct water level without manual intervention, while an automatic heating element cut-off engages if water levels in the tank drop too low — protecting the boiler and the machine from dry-heat damage. The system manages itself, so the barista can focus entirely on the coffee.
Design & Finish
The Sole carries Bezzera's signature Italian aesthetic in a body that is both bold and refined. The AISI 304 stainless steel frame and body panels are built for longevity, and the distinctive angled lines and adjustable feet give the machine an architectural presence that sets it apart from standard prosumer machines. Available in four finishes — Stainless Steel, Matt Black, White, and Matt Green — it integrates equally well into a contemporary home kitchen, a roastery bar, or a boutique hospitality setting.
