BWT Best Taste S-Type Filtration Cartridge

The BWT Best Taste S is the cartridge for water that is already soft: fine filtration and activated carbon that clean up chlorine, off-tastes and particles, without the softening stage that naturally soft water does not need.

What it does

• Activated carbon filtration: strips chlorine and the off-flavours municipal treatment leaves behind, which otherwise end up concentrated in a 25 ml espresso.
• Fine particle filtration: catches sediment before it reaches solenoids, flow meters and gicleurs, the small parts that particles kill first.
• No softening stage: the point of this cartridge. Softening already-soft water strips it below what espresso extraction wants; the Best Taste treats taste without touching mineral balance.
• Cartridge format: fits the same BWT filter heads as the Best-Protect line, sold separately.

Best Taste or Best-Protect

The choice is made by your water, not your machine. Naturally soft supply, roughly under 4 grains per gallon of hardness: Best Taste S. Anything harder: a Best-Protect softening cartridge in the size matching your volume. Test the water before choosing; we can help with this.

Best suited to

Espresso installations on naturally soft municipal water, where taste and particle protection are the only jobs left to do.
