ECM Exacto Grind-by-Weight Espresso Grinder (Stainless Steel)

The ECM Exacto is ECM's first grind-by-weight espresso grinder — a purpose-built companion to the Synchronika, Mechanika and Classika, wrapped in the same polished stainless steel. Instead of grinding to a timer and hoping the dose lands, the Exacto weighs the coffee as it falls and stops when it hits your target. Built in Germany.

Why the Exacto

• True grind-by-weight: Store up to three doses, adjustable in 0.1 g steps, and the Exacto grinds to that weight every time — no recalibrating the timer when you switch beans or the roast ages.
• Portafilter recognition: The grinder recognises up to three different portafilters and automatically selects the dose you've assigned to each one. Single, double, naked — drop it in and go.
• Live weight confirmation: The scale keeps reading after the grind finishes, so you can top up a light dose or see exactly what you removed. The on-screen prompt tells you where you stand before you tamp.
• Digital grind position: An encoder tracks the burr carrier and puts a precise numeric value on screen, with a resettable zero point. Dial a setting in, write it down, come back to it months later.
• Stepless adjustment: The lower burr moves against a fixed upper burr for infinitely fine control through the espresso range — no detents to fight when you're half a click out.
• 64 mm flat steel burrs: A 680 W motor at 1,350 RPM pulls roughly 18 g in six seconds, fast enough to keep up behind a double boiler without cooking the grounds.
• Genuinely quiet: Redesigned motor bearings and rubber vibration mounts isolate the drivetrain from the housing, so the Exacto is noticeably more civilised first thing in the morning than most 64 mm grinders.
• Tool-free servicing: The portafilter fork is height-adjustable by hand, the grounds chute pops out for cleaning, and the upper burr carrier lifts out without a screwdriver.
• Three operating modes: Grind by weight, grind by time, or hold for manual grinding — useful for filter doses, cleaning routines, or purging a bean change.
• Barista Light: Illuminates the portafilter while dosing so you can actually see the bed you're about to distribute.
