The Leva X is a spring-piston lever machine with a screen above every group telling you exactly what the spring is doing. Extraction is purely mechanical — pulling the lever compresses a heavy internal spring, and the spring pushing the piston back down is what pulls the shot. What the X adds is visibility and per-group thermal control that no traditional lever has ever offered.
What the X adds over the Leva S
- Two independent 1.3 L brew boilers: one per group at 800 W each, instead of the S's single shared 3.4 L boiler. Two coffees, two brew temperatures, on a lever machine.
- Smart PID: tighter temperature control per group, managed from the group displays.
- Live pressure visualisation: a graphical display above each group showing pre-infusion pressure, extraction pressure and time as the shot happens. On a mechanical machine this is genuinely useful — it lets a barista correlate grind and dose to the actual spring curve rather than guessing from the cup.
- Military-grade steam potentiometer: finer steam control, built for high-volume service with minimal maintenance.
The lever itself
- Redesigned cam geometry reducing operating force by almost 50% versus a traditional lever machine. That is the difference between a lever being a feature and a lever being a staffing problem.
- Mechanical safety clutch preventing lever kickback on sudden pressure loss — a portafilter pulled early, or a grind gone coarse.
- Adjustable pre-infusion, 2 to 4 bar, set with a regulator knob. Maximum delivery pressure should never exceed 12 bar, marked red on the gauge.
- 8.2 L steam boiler at 3000 W, Pro Touch cool-to-touch wands and a hot water economizer as standard, with ECO mode available.
- Exposed mechanics: the lever groups are deliberately left in view. On a bar where the machine is part of the experience, watching the piston work is the point.
Best suited to
Roastery bars and destination cafés running more than one coffee, competition and training environments, hotel and restaurant settings that want a genuine signature machine, and skilled teams who want the lever pressure curve with data behind it.
Note the Leva's height: at 30.6 in it is roughly 11 in taller than a Strada or Linea and needs its overhead clearance planned. Requires a dedicated 30 A circuit. To be clear on what the X is not: the displays visualise the spring's pressure, they do not programme it, and there are no integrated scales or Auto Brew Ratio on the Leva line. Certified UL-197, NSF-8 and CAN/CSA-C22.2 No. 109.
